Wastin' the pretty...

I have become practically a pro at this. Anyone have any advice for how to stop? Gosh, since, I don't know, August (2005) I have been used and (not physically, are you kidding? I'd kill 'em) abused by guys.
I am in a rut of the greatest proportions. I know I'm fabulous. Why do I settle, settle, settle? And not even settle, but totally seek out effed-up relationships?
This is the riddle of the week. First person to get an answer that will help me wins an extra special virtual hug!

Pet peeves

The expression "kick (my, your, his, her) trash." You've probably NEVER heard that if you aren't mo. It's akin to "kick (my, your, his, her) butt."
Songs that tell a story (esp. ones that start and end with the same sentence, usually of the country genre)
the phrase "as per usual"
that Nicholas Cage Still has a career, should have ended after "Raising Arizona"
the question "what can I do you for?"
the glare of the sun off cars in mid-day
tights with open-toed shoes
cell phones in public
mis-uses of the words 'there,' 'their,' 'they're' (and similar grammatical errors)
