So, do you know anyone who is at the precipice of having completed her first novel?

Umm, yeah you do. Me.
Don't hate, congratulate!

*Does anyone have contacts in publishing, btw? I need to get in with a major publishing house. Girl's gotta get on 'Oprah.'

Nice work! Congratulations! Let me know if you need a young, hip, whiteeyebrowed, male to give your book a test read.

I finished mine in 2004.....

It still sits on my shelf.

I am bitter.

Because it is fantastic.

So, once you get to know someone, have them give me a call.

Congratulations! That is a lot of work, so pat yourself on the back a couple times and get a new pair of shoes :) Oh and get an agent while your at it to submit your work for you. (You probably already know this, but most publishing houses do not accept submissions directly from the author. You have to find an agent that will take you on and shop your book around.)

I finished my first (why do I say first, as it's my ONLY) novel back in 2003 (*le sigh*) and it still sits on a shelf needing some serious, serious editing. Self-editing is the hardest.

However, if you need a good proofreader... for a nominal fee I would be happy to look at it! (Fee does not necessarily equate money, btw.... *laughs*)

Congrats on finishing!!!

Thanks, guys, and sorry for the forced 'congrats!' Alison, thanks for the advice! I know nothing about publishing a book... yet!

Congratulations!!! Yeah, I think that I can publish your novel, I have a small publishing company. Can't promise that I will sell too many in Lubbock, but I will try!

I know nothing about publishing. I have no idea what on earth you are supposed to do. But I am really excited to read it. And I think it is extremely awesome that I now know someone who is an author...wow! For a librarian who works part time at a bookstore and travels across the country to attend book signings, it makes me happy in my heart that you have finished your novel and that I know you. That sounds dorky, but its true.
