Gangstas' Paradise

I heard "Gangstas' Paradise" today, after a too-long period in which I didn't even know I missed it... What a great commentary on modern civilization, art, life, and 'hoods.
Good stuff. Really good. I wish I were a rapper. (I am in my car, but I wish it paid more...)

Takes me back...way back. I loved that song!

Tell me why are we, so blind to see. That the one's we hurt, are you and me. Been spending most their lives, living in the gangsta's paradise!

There are many rap "songs" that have real meaning like I Get Money, Underground Kingz, and Hustlenomic$. I must say that I find it interesting that women who want to be treated "right" can find any entertainments in "mucic" that for the most part glorifies the Ho and money. Videos of scantily clad "ladies" shaking their bodies in ways that are less than flattering. Not to mention ebonics and other slang that should be offensive to any educated human. I say "Just Say No to Rap." Once this life is over, rap will be played exclusively in the basement...

"Who's the Ho"? The song that is, not a person. I agree with Bob about the video's and degrading women. I enjoy bouncing/dancing to the beat though. I love the song "Goldigger", but the video...oh my goodness! Everything Bob described a video to be!

Too much television watchin's got me chasing dreams. I'm an educated fool with money on my mind. I got some tin in my hand in a gleam in my eye...
Death ain't nothin' but a heart beat away, I'm livin' life do or die-uh, what can I say? I'm 23, but will I live to see 24? The way things are goin' I don't know. [Insert Candice's post with the chorus.]

Coolio. What more could you ask for in a human being than crazy, wacked out hair, and a desire to change things for the brothers in the hood? Peace.
