One of my friends has a blind date this weekend. To her, and those like her, I offer the following advice:
Just entertain yourself, and if your date is entertained as well, it's an extra added bonus. Have fun, I mean, hey, you're still with you, right? Hello! You're fabulous!
Anyway, it has worked for me (particularly in Provo days past), and offers a 98% rate of return on a subsequent date invitation.

I agree. Just go into your blind date deciding that it is just an opportunity to get to know someone new. Don't put too much stock into it, and just have fun.
I have been on like 20 blind dates in my life. Only 2 have gone great. About 10 have been tolerable, and the other 8 have been clock-watchers.
Be prepared for all eventualities.
